Invitation to Submit

On behalf of the Tasmanian faculties of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine, the College for Emergency Nursing Australasia and Paramedics Tasmania we have much pleasure in inviting you to submit an abstract for Emergency Tasmania 2018.

Submission closes Friday 4th May 2018.

Presentation Formats

While you will be asked to indicate your preferred presentation format, the program committee may request an alternative format be considered. The committee will allocate presentations to the program taking into account the preference of authors and the balance of the program.

To submit a presentation you will be asked to enter your email address and create a password.

Once you have created an account you can submit abstracts. You can log back in to submit more abstracts and/or full papers and to register for the conference.

Oral Presentation
Oral papers will be featured during the Saturday program and will run for 10 Minutes within the concurrent sessions. There are three themes for Oral Papers:

  • Nursing
  • Medical
  • Paramedic

Posters should be A0 size (A0 size is 841mm x 1189mm) in portrait orientation.  Click here for hints on preparing your poster.

Abstract Submission Procedure

  1. Prepare your abstract
    Prepare your 300 word abstract text. This applies for oral and poster submissions
  2. Enter your contact details
    Go to the Presentation Portal (above) to enter your contact details.
  3. Enter Presenter and Author details
    Enter names and affiliations of the presenter and authors.  Also enter brief biography of the presenter(s), 100 words is sufficient.
  4. Enter your abstract details
    ‘Cut and Paste’ the abstract text 300 words and into the relevant field in the Presentation Portal.

Presentation Files

Presenters will be asked to load their PowerPoint slides to an online folder in the week preceeding the conference to facilitate a smooth transition of presentations on the day.  We also ask that you bring your files to the conference on a memory stick, as a back up.

All slides will be run from a PC presentation computer in each session room. However, if you have a complex presentation, which includes multiple media files, we suggest you bring your own laptop as a backup in case of difficulties loading your presentation.

Audiovisual Equipment

Each lecture room will be equipped for the presentation of Power Point slides and include a data projector, computer (with external speakers), lectern and microphone. Other audiovisual aids, such as Overhead Projectors, are not available

Presenters Registration

All presenters will be required to register for the conference and pay the appropriate registration fee. Presenters also need to meet their own travel and accommodation costs.
